It is that time of the month where this space is dedicated to a project that I am working on. While
I have been talking about this for more than a year, I actually took the first steps to making it a reality two
weeks ago.
I found someone who was willing to take me to some of the great little churches here in
southeastern Manitoba, but most importantly he had the contacts that had keys to these buildings and I
was able to get some interior pictures as well.
The original idea was to picture these buildings and their architecture but since I got to see the
inside of a few, I thought it a must that the interiors be featured as well. So the project has grown to a
photo book that I expect will be 60 pages, with about 4 pages of photos on each church.
It will not be a history book of the church, and it will especially not be a history book defining
religions and the differences of each. There are lots of books on those topics.
The book will be a project that will keep me busy for a week or two now visiting the various
churches and I expect to have it ready and published by Christmas. I can think of a few people who might
get one in their stocking. On that matter, I have had one person tell me he would like a copy when it
comes off the press. It was not intended as a commercial venture, but rather an opportunity to work on my
photography skills and to develop some kinds of skill in page lay out (where I am sadly lacking).
So today I offer a few pics from the half dozen churches I have already visited and to show off.
Show off the great buildings of our area if you only look around. I don’t feel I am quiet at the point of
showing off my photo skills but I keep working on that as well.
One thing I have learned from my Facebook posts is you have to include the location of the
church. I won’t have many other details but I can promise you that name and location.
